Beijing Animation Week ends: 203 works reach over 500 million people online

  2026 Beijing Animation Week ended on September 27 at the Beijing Exhibition Hall.In four days, 203 animation works were screened through CCTV, iQiyi, Youku, Kaku Children's Channel and other platforms, covering more than 500 million people online; Capital Cinema, Poly International Cinema, etc. completed 36 theatrical screenings, and 53 charity and open-air screenings.

The event was jointly sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Radio, Film and Television Bureau and the Xicheng District Party Committee and Government, with the theme of “animation+better together, and adopted a ”1+7+N“ structure: one main venue, seven sections, and five branch venues in the east, west, south, north, and middle, and then linked to the city's ”16+1“ district points and market-oriented animation activities.The schedule is embedded in the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, connecting industry activities with citizens’ cultural, business and travel experience.

Thirty ”Beijing Audio-Visual“ key animation projects were released on site, including - Luo Shen: Chinese Famous Paintings in Motion -; - There was also a childhood in the Hutong - Baiyangdian Cormorant - Stories of Beijing Place Names - and other projects were promoted.Industry professionals and front-line creators exchanged views on quality creation, technological innovation, industrial integration and international communication.

The venture capital solicitation received 330 projects, resulting in 8 cooperation intentions, with a contract amount of 135 million yuan.

At the closing ceremony, the 48-hour AIGC Original Animation Challenge recommended the winners, allowing the extreme creations of 30 teams to take to the stage.They used AIGC tools to complete animation creation around Beijing's regional culture within two days.

Young works were also unveiled through two projects: Beijing Film Academy Animation School showcased outstanding works of ”Tomorrow Star“; ”New Light·Future Frame“ linked more than 80 universities across the country, 24 of which participated. 274 works went through two rounds of anonymous reviews, 50 were shortlisted, and 16 were finally recommended.Honors include special honors from the jury, best creative expression, best technical application, best humanistic care, golden frame honors, etc. The works of 2025 and 2026 will be displayed on the same stage.

The Beijing Women's Federation, Beijing Radio, Film and Television Bureau, and Beijing Film and Television Animation Association jointly launched the ”Child-Friendly Charity Animation Empowerment Action“, and launched AI-powered children's educational animation boutiques and children's original animation collections.The Beijing Film and Television Animation Association also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the International AI Animation Creative Industrial Park to promote original and industrial projects to be launched in Tongzhou.

”Animation shines and pays homage to the future%The recommendations of outstanding partners were also announced at the closing ceremony, and more than 30 units including China Animation Group and CCTV Animation received honors.
