Canadian hockey drama adds six new cast members for season 2

A Canadian hockey drama airing on Crave and HBO Max has announced six new cast members for its second season.Brendan Morgan plays Ottawa professional ice hockey player Zane Budram, and David Tomlinson plays Toronto player Cody Kent.The character previously had another name in the original novel, but has been changed to Cody Kent in this series version.

Four additional cast members have also been confirmed.Gerry Dee plays Toronto head coach Cooper, and Michelle Mylett plays doctor Lisa, the wife of new Ottawa player Wyatt Hayes.Lauren Chen plays Jane, an Ottawa staff member who will work with this season's new protagonist, Harris Drover.Nick Stahl plays Curtis Barrett, the father of new protagonist Troy Barrett.

The first season is adapted from the second part of the novel series of the same name by Rachel Reed. The main plot follows two talented players in the professional ice hockey world who compete with each other on the ice.Hudson Williams stars as Shane Holland and Connor Story stars as Ilya Rozanov.The second season will continue to revolve around the relationship between the two, who have established a relationship but still have to hide their true feelings in public.

Characters from the first novel in the original series also appear as supporting clues in the first season.The series won award recognition after the first season was aired. The second season will add more roles related to the team, family and social media positions in addition to the existing two protagonists.

The second season mainly refers to the sixth novel of the original series, and will also use another story that happened at the same time as material.The latter line focuses on Elijah's teammate Troy Barrett's relationship with Ottawa's social media manager Harris Drover.Recent casting information shows that a pair of characters from the third novel in the original series will also enter the new season.

Williams and Story continue to lead the cast, with Justice Smith, Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Deemer and Shaheen Jafargoli joining in the main roles.Additional cast members have been announced for the second season over the past two months, including Emily Hampshire, Edwin Rudin, Robert Naylor, Sabrina Jallis, Priyanka, Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross and Milla Jovovich.

Several actors from the first season will also return as supporting characters.Series creator Jacob Tierney served as writer and director for the first season and will remain as writer, director and executive producer for the second season.Mike Goldbach joins the writing staff for Season 2, with original author Rachel Reed serving as consulting producer.

The show premiered in November 2025. Williams and Story were both working as waiters in a restaurant at the time, and quickly gained attention after landing their roles.Williams won a Canadian Screen Award for his role as Shane.Crave was renewed for a second season early in the first season, and HBO Max has confirmed it will continue airing a new season.

The second season is currently filming, with a target broadcast date of spring 2027.Production is promoted by Tierney and Brendan Brady’s Accent Aigu Entertainment, with Bell Media’s Crave commissioning, with participation from the Canadian Media Fund.The new roles of the six actors and the announced continued filming progress constitute the main content of this second season update.
