Lin Wan in the story is 38 years old, the director of a design company, unmarried and infertile, and dependent on her 68-year-old mother Lin Xiulan.The mother's biggest wish is to see her daughter get married, so she goes to dating corners, asks people to introduce her, and spends money to join dating groups.There is a deep relationship between mother and daughter, but there are also disputes about marriage.

The starting point of Wang Zeyan's creation was an online post.The post talked about a 42-year-old unmarried woman who lived alone and was only found three days after her death.A person who claimed to be an old neighbor wrote in the comments that her mother held her hand when she was dying and asked him to persuade her daughter to find a partner, but in the end he failed to do so.The director recalled at the press conference that when he saw that sentence, he was sitting on the sofa at home, holding up his mobile phone for a long time and not putting it down.

In the process of writing the script, he gradually focused on his mother: a person who knew that he was about to leave, but still couldn't let go of his daughter's life.

The second half of the film continues along the story of her daughter's life.After her mother left, Lin Wan still seemed to be independent, but later she collapsed at home alone due to fulminant myocarditis.She struggled to call 120, but still missed the best opportunity for treatment.The plot pushed the dilemma to the hospital: there were hundreds of contacts in the address book, but there were no family members who could be present outside the operating room. She heard the nurse in the ICU saying that she had no family members.
