Before playing McGee, Sean Murray played two roles in JAG

Before becoming special agent Timothy McGee on NCIS, Sean Murray played two different characters on its parent show, JAG.

The first time was in 1998, when he guest-starred as Ensign Terry Guitry in the third episode of Season 4, Innocence. The episode revolves around a rape case involving a U.S. Navy officer and a Japanese girl.

From 2000 to 2001, he played Danny Walden, the troubled young son of Dr. Sidney Walden in the sixth season.Danny appears in episodes three, Florida Straits, episode four, Flight Risk, episode five, JAG TV, episode six, The Princess and the Petty Officer, and episode twenty-one, Past Tense, for a total of five episodes.

《Law Enforcement Hero》It encountered opposition from the U.S. Navy in its early days, but it still went through a long broadcast process. In the eighth season, the crew used two episodes, Ice Queen and Meltdown, as embedded pilots for NCIS to pave the way for the new series.

Murray went on to have a long-running role as McGee on NCIS, with reports calling him the show's longest-tenured actor. In real life, his understanding of the Navy family is also very direct: his father, Craig Harlan Murray, served in the U.S. Navy for more than 30 years. Murray lived with his family in multiple military bases before he was 15 years old.

In an interview with People in 2017, he said that he put a photo of himself and his biological father into the set of McGee's apartment early in the series.“That was pretty cool, and it kind of inspired the character's later story.”

After Murray's parents divorced in the early 1990s, his mother, Vivienne, later married Donald P. Bellisario, the creator of Enforcement and NCIS.His brother, Chad W. Murray, and stepbrothers Michael and Troian Bellisario also worked on both shows.
