《Brave Girls Choir》scheduled for October 20th, Miao and Dong children will sing out of the mountains

“Liao Beng Tapei” means “brave girl” in Miao language. The real experience of this choir in Congjiang County, Guizhou was adapted into a children's music film - Brave Girls Chorus. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters across the country on October 20, and a scheduled trailer and poster have been released together.

Shao Bing directed this film, starring Li Haofei, Xu Yue, Wang Yanhui, Wang Jinghua, Li Yanan, Die Dangjiu and others. The story is adapted from Xiao Qin's children's literature work - Liao Beng Tapei Choir - and takes place in the Miao and Dong villages in southeastern Guizhou.Wang Yanhui plays the principal of a primary school, Xu Yue plays the village secretary, and Li Haofei plays the supporting teacher. The three of them work together to form a women's choir for local girls. After the choir was established, transportation difficulties and limited educational conditions brought practical difficulties to training and development.Children also have their own timidity and are not used to expressing it in front of others. The film follows the process of rehearsal, getting along and going on stage, telling how they gradually dared to speak.

The changes of the girls are intertwined with the life of the village.School educators, village workers, musicians, village elders and left-behind families all participated in this period of growth. The concern between parents who leave home to work and their children who stay in their hometown is also what the film focuses on.

The filming team went to the local area to collect customs and experience life, and incorporated the singing and folk customs of the Miao and Dong people into the filming.Original singing is not only the daily life of the choir, but also an important component of film music. In the new trailer, children's voices appear accompanied by Guizhou landscapes and silver jewelry. The clip of more than one minute links the girls' journey from shyness to gradually becoming more confident.

The scheduled poster unfolds a long scroll of green mountain countryside: terraced fields, drum towers, ferries, basketball hoops and various characters are arranged among them.Choir girls wearing national costumes and silver jewelry stand in a group portrait, and daily living facilities and people participating together are also put into the same picture.

The film has been shortlisted for the 13th Silk Road International Film Festival, the Hong Kong Bauhinia International Film Festival and the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival in South Korea, and has become a recommended film during China Rural Film Week.
