 —18 hours of beaching—focusing on the 1955 Battle of Yijiangshan Island.On October 23, this modern war-themed TV series produced by Zhejiang Film and Television (Group) Co., Ltd. held a launch event at the Yijiangshan Island Landing Battle Memorial Hall in Taizhou, Zhejiang. Director Wang Wei, screenwriter Xu Su, and actors such as Wei Daxun, Wang Jinsong, and Huang Xiyan were present.The story takes the front-line officers and soldiers who landed in the Pioneer Company and the Fifth Blade Company as the protagonists, and tells the story of how they experienced the test of life and death together and forged a comradeship in battle.As the first joint operation of the land, sea and air forces in New China, the Battle of Yijiangshan Island also provided the drama with a historical background from single-arm operations to multi-arm coordination.

At the start-up scene, nine retired military personnel lined up in army, navy and air force uniforms, recreating the scene of the three armies gathering with pre-war mobilization slogans.On the concept poster released at the same time, soldiers stand on the rocks, red flags, ships and aircrafts together form the picture. The words "blue waves strengthen the loyal soul, three armies fight against one river" highlight the creative theme.

Wang Wei said that the series will present this joint battle between the three armed forces and describe the soldiers' belief in safeguarding national unity and defending territorial integrity.He hopes to pay tribute to the soldiers of the army, navy and air force who participated in the war more than 70 years ago through his works.

Xu Su's preparations began several years ago.The screenwriting team conducted preliminary research and visited veterans in Taizhou to learn about the battle; after the script was finalized, it took several months to polish it.He said that he felt honored and aware of the responsibility when receiving this task, and looked forward to the entire crew working together to complete a work that can represent the creative standards of Zhejiang film and television.The actors also participated in special military training during the preparatory stage to prepare for their military roles.

The filming will be carried out with the support of local co-production.Zheng Hao, executive deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, said that the Battle of Yijiangshan Island has been integrated into Taizhou's urban memory. Taizhou will further explore the value of this history and provide the crew with services such as filming, setting, group performance organization, and logistical support.

Chen Jie, deputy editor-in-chief of Zhejiang Radio and Television Group, placed the creative requirements on characters and details.In her opinion, the "18 hours" in the title not only marks the time of the battle, but also focuses on the choices, courage and sacrifices of the participants.She hopes that the team will respect historical facts, delve into details, portray real characters, and tell solid stories; Zhejiang Film and Television Group will also continue to delve into revolutionary historical themes in accordance with the standards of "profound thinking, exquisite art, and excellent production".
