FX anthology drama - Feud - Season 2 - Feud: Capote vs. the Swans - This drama is set in the 1970s and ends with the death of Truman Capote in 1984.The story tells the story of Capote, a famous writer who was successful as a young boy. In 1975, he published a short story in Esquire magazine called La Côte Basque 1965, which alluded to real events.Capote's move secretly hurt many of his female friends, whom he called "swans".This article was supposed to be a chapter in his infamous unfinished book, Answered Prayers, the sequel to In Cold Blood.

It tells the story of the famous writer Truman Capote (played by Tom Hollander) who interacts closely with a small group of the most elite women. They are all wealthy and glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of New York's upper class. Capote refers to them as“swan”.This group of beautiful and famous women includes ladies Barbara “Babe” Paley (played by Naomi Watts), Slim Keith (played by Diane Lane), C.Z. Guest (played by Chloë Sevigny) and Lee Radziwill (played by Calista Flockhart).Capote was fascinated by these women, charmed them into their lives, befriended them, became confidants, and ultimately betrayed them—as he describes at length in his unabashedly fictional workTheir lives, exposing their most private secrets.Excerpts from Capote's planned book, Answered Prayers, were published in the magazine Esquire, effectively destroying his relationship with Swan and expelling him from the society he loved.Society plunged him into a whirlpool of self-destruction from which he never recovered.

Newcomer Ella Beatty plays Kerry O'Shea (Kate Harrington), whose father John O'Shea is Capote Truman's long-term lover.Truman later changed Kerry's name to Kate.After being estranged from her parents, Kate was taken under the care of Truman and became his protégé.Truman introduced Kate to the colorful world of fashion, modeling, art and literature, and also allowed her to experience the heartbreak of watching another paternal figure's reputation be ruined.
