The play tells the story of how a group of Cantonese businessmen in the Qing Dynasty promoted China's independent spirit in the turbulent era.The Thirteen branches of Guangzhou in the Qing Dynasty were the only window for trade and cultural exchanges between China and the world, spreading Eastern civilization to all parts of the world.The Cantonese businessmen headed by Lin Bingyuan (played by Zhu Yawen) were courageous and resourceful, and carried out friendly trade exchanges with the East India Company and the United States of America. They were neither humble nor overbearing, and gained a place in world trade.At the same time, Lin Bingyuan teamed up with Zheng Shicheng (played by Yu Haoming) and other Guangdong businessmen to fight wits and courage with Guangdong Customs Supervisor Ji Shan (played by Yu Ailei). Even in the era of internal and external troubles, he still stuck to himself and saved the world.
